Kvevri — the Heart of Georgian Winemaking Tradition

Kvevri is inspired by the ancient Georgian winemaking tradition and the clay vessels that have been used to ferment wine underground for thousands of years. Georgia is considered the birthplace of wine, with a winemaking history stretching back more than 8,000 years.

This traditional kvevri method is inscribed on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage, recognising its cultural significance.
